Professional Pet Portrait Artist – Adelaide, South Australia
With over 30 years of experience, I am a professional pet portrait artist based in Adelaide, South Australia, specialising in beautifully detailed, custom pet portraits in coloured pencil and graphite. My aim is to create high-quality, personalised artwork that captures not only the appearance of your beloved companion but also their unique personality, character and spirit.
I use only premium-quality materials to ensure every portrait is created to the highest standard and treasured for generations. Each artwork is carefully and thoughtfully created, with a genuine passion for capturing the special bond we share with our animals.
My love and understanding of animals began growing up on a hobby farm, surrounded by a variety of animals, including horses, goats, chickens, cats and dogs. These early experiences gave me a lifelong appreciation and connection with animals, which I bring to every portrait I create.
Whether you are looking to celebrate a much-loved companion or commission a special pet memorial portrait in loving memory of a pet who has passed, I will guide you through the process from beginning to end. All I need are a few suitable photographs to get started. Please visit my Photo Tips page for helpful advice on choosing the best reference photos.
If you are unsure whether your photographs are suitable for a custom or memorial portrait, please don't hesitate to get in touch. I am always happy to review your photos and discuss how we can create a meaningful and lasting tribute to your beloved pet.
Let me capture the character, personality and spirit of your beloved companion in a beautiful, handcrafted portrait – a timeless keepsake to cherish for a lifetime.

Testimonials
Nicola Smart
“My mother was wanting a portrait of her gorgeous rough collie, Elsa, and Susan has really delivered. We had a photo in mind of her in Mum's garden to recreate, and the result was a picture perfect likeness of Elsa. The colour balance is gorgeous and Susan really captured her eyes. She was lovely to deal with, and excellent communication throughout the drawing process to ensure we were happy with the result. The whole process was very easy, we'd happily recommend Susan to anyone wanting a pet portrait. Thanks Susan!”
